Life of the Grasshopper |
J H Fabre |
Dodd Mead and Company |
Hardcover |
Very Good |
$14.75 |
| | This is a somewhat ornate 1917 treatise on the grasshopper, beginning with the fable of the cicada and the ant then moving on through a more factual look at the mantis, empussa, white-faced decticus, the green grasshoppers, crickets, cicadels and the locusts. What at first looks like a tiled pattern on the front cover is actually grasshoppers in sillohuete. Brown cloth over boards, gold accented title and author. Very good condition with marginal wear on the edges and clean unmarked pages throughout. | |
